A shifting landscape refers to an environment that is continually changing, wether physically like the earth’s geography, or metaphorically, encompassing changes in society’s social, economic, ecological or political spheres.
Historically speaking the genre of landscape has traditionally been linked to picturesque views, but the artworks featured in this exhibition suggest a broader interpretation.
These pieces showcase the effects of industrialization on the environment, explore the impact of geopolitical borders, and create imagined spaces that challenge the notion of a "natural" world.
The exhibition is organized into sections that reflect the various meanings associated with the concept of landscape.
Together, these works highlight how we shape and are shaped by the spaces around us.
"Shifting Landscapes" is organized by ART13 with the participation of local artists. An experimental art project to enrich empty spaces in a distinctive way.
